The Plan of Salvation

Verses to lead someone to Christ

1. Man's need - Isaiah 59:2, Hebrews 9:27 - "But your iniquities have separated you from your God." "Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment."

2. God's love - John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

3. Christ our sin-bearer - Isaiah 53:6, I Peter 2:24 - "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all." "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed."

4. Christ our Savior - II Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"

5. Christ our sovereign - Romans 14:9 - "For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living."

6. The need to receive Christ - John 1:11-12 - "He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive Him. Yet to all those who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."

God's Love and Man's Condition

1. God loves you - I John 4:10 - "This is love; not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."

2. You have sinned - Romans 3:23, 6:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." This death is eternal separation from God. Sin is disobeying God and going our way instead of Gods.

3. God has made the way through His Son, Jesus Christ - John 14:6, I Cor. 15:3-4, I Peter 3:18 - "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures." "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit."

4. Accept Jesus Christ for yourself - John 1:12, Ephesians 2:8-9 - "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves. It is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." Invite Jesus into your heart and life.

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know I'm a sinner. I'm sorry for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and ask you to forgive me. Thank you for sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sins. Jesus, I ask you to come into my life and be my Lord, Savior and Friend. Thank you for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. Amen.

The Roman's Road

1. The fact of sin - Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

2. The result of sin - Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." Wages are earned or deserved, but a gift isn't.

3. God's love for sinners - Romans 5:8 - "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

4. Salvation - Who? - Romans 10:13 - "For, everyone calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

5. Salvation - How? - Romans 10:9 - "That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

6. Salvation - Why? - Romans 14:9 - "For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living."
